no FDA, no Rx… just truth
A week ago, my children went to a youth convention and were ministered to by pastors Jeremy and Christy Johnson. Christy led worship with the band, Worth Dying For, and both she and her husband preached the always- relevant Word of God to a crowd of two thousand. Jacob and Jordan were among countless others whose lives were impacted by the Truth. Upon their return home, I was impacted by the report of the Johnson’s church-planting. Their desire to see the Kingdom of God expanded in L.A. has led to the creation of a new church named “Fearless.” Now that captures the heart of this generation!
I believe that people deeply desire to live without fear, but as the threat of harm increases almost daily in our world, the possibility of living fearlessly seems out of reach for many. God says otherwise.
Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble; when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be your CONFIDENCE and will keep your foot from being snared (Proverbs 3:24-26).
Can I just say that the promises of God are the best prescription for an anxiety-ridden mind? You really should give Him a try! His Word works! It wasn’t that long ago that the fear of a repeat blood clot in my leg was taking over my thoughts. The pain was real, but the threat of bodily harm was not! The torment of the enemy is always present to enslave us; we only have to take the bait. My mind battled for the peace of God, and when it got to a desperate point, I asked the Lord for His confidence. If I needed to go to the hospital and get a test of my vein done, I would do so. However, if the test was unnecessary, give me the assurance, I asked. Later that day, I read one of the scripture cards that I kept in my purse. (I believe in keeping my weaponry close at hand!) The timing of my reading the scriptural truth could not have been more perfect! I heard God speak this to my heart as I held the notecard in my hand and said aloud the following words: “…my body also will rest secure (Psalm 16:9). I remember saying to the Lord right then, “Okay. That settles it. I will move ahead in peace without a medical consultation. Thank you for Your healing.”
Over the course of a week’s time, I received counsel from my neighbor and chiropractor concerning the pain in my calf muscle. He informed me of the small, quick-release muscle deep within the calf muscle mass that is hard to stretch when injured. With the demonstration of a few stretches and my obedience to follow through, I was on the road to pain-free running! God is good!
Regardless of the situation you face, make sure that there’s no place for fear in your thoughts or heart. Hold fast to the Word of God and the specific promises. You WILL experience His peace like a river flooding your soul. Create notecards with the scriptures that speak directly to the situation and declare them aloud over your life each day.
This is your prescription; take as often as needed.
