away we go to Orlando
Our two teens left on a Saturday with their youth group to head to the National Fine Arts Festival in Orlando, and the husband and I decided a couple of days later to also make the trip south for the event. We traveled on Wednesday, unbeknownst to our children. They arrived back to their resort after an evening service at the convention center and were shocked to see Mom and Dad waiting to greet them. Yeah, that was fun! I highly recommend an undertaking of such magnitude!
We were blessed to spend the following day enjoying the beautiful Florida weather and Walt Disney World. Friday’s conclusion of the festival afforded us the opportunity to visit with friends from all over the nation. We watched one of our youth group members present his award-winning guitar solo-he placed in the top ten in the nation!
I’m not sure how we managed to find down time, but we shopped the Orlando Premium Outlets and then dropped ourselves poolside where I immersed myself in a freshly signed copy of All In. My daughter stood in line a bit at the exhibition hall to get that one. She loves me!
Back to the pool… I thought that finding a nice hotel at such late notice during a national convention would be next to impossible, but I’m so glad I was wrong! The property at the Wyndham Orlando Resort was very satisfying with newly renovated rooms and well manicured grounds. The pool was spacious and quiet- a great spot for reading!
