consume
The love of God is not intended to interest you but consume you.
I don’t want to be an interested follower of Christ. I want to be all in. I’m not even sure I understand what “all in” means, but I pray an increasing willingness to die to my flesh and go the way of the cross of Christ.
I am thankful for the all-inclusive work of God’s love, and I’m convinced that if we allow it to have dominion in our lives, it will totally consume us.
God’s love consumes the guilt of my sin and sets me free to worship Him with my life.
God’s love consumes my fear and enables me to live a life of mountain-moving faith.
God’s love consumes my insecurities and fills me with confidence that I am who I am by divine design.
God’s love consumes my relationships and allows me to serve others in humility.
God’s love consumes my work/my purpose and lays up treasures in heaven.
In considering the above truths, I am quicker to believe what God says about my status in Christ: “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority” (Colossians 2:9-10, emphasis added).
