making a scene, in a good way

…Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there.

Is the Holy Spirit beckoning you to inspect your heart, the holy dwelling place of God? “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16).

Let us follow the footsteps of our Lord in His zeal for that which is sacred.

He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts.

Oh, that we would see who is trafficking their goods in our hearts. There are lies being sold… worse, we’re buying them. Do you recognize the activity? They set themselves up under the pretense of promoting our wholeness. You need ____ to be holy/well/loved/accepted, they say. Lies. The only merit that earns us the right to walk in God’s incomparable Presence (the source of our wholeness) is the powerful blood of Jesus. Anyone selling an additional qualifier is deserving of immediate eviction.

And as He taught them, He said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations?'”

The child of God communes with the Father through prayer, and it is without hinderance. There is nothing obstructing his fellowship with the Almighty when he trusts in the blood. The believer’s heart is the temple.

But you have made it a den of robbers…

We opened the door of our hearts and granted the thief access. In fact, we set him up in the guest room. We’ve become accustomed to his boastful statements topped off with, “I’m just looking out for you. You better do it if you want to protect yourself.”

Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the Lord (Jeremiah 7:11).

Child of God, find the thieving, lying impostors in your heart and command them to get out! Get serious about it. You have lived a “less than supernatural” life because of them. In the same breath that Jesus validated His connection to the Father by the miracles performed, He said that anyone who believes in Him will do the same things He did. Supernaturally. “He {the believer} will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12).

The supernatural realities of heaven flow out of a pure heart in communion with the Father. The world is changed when the heart that bears His Name is a true representation of everything holy and good.

(The account of Jesus clearing the Temple appears in all four gospels. The verses above are from Mark 11: 15-17, unless otherwise noted.)
