when you desperately want something more in life

Don’t work yourself sick trying to get _____ (Fill in the blank: love, wealth, recognition, approval, etc.). Look to Jesus as your source. He wants to bless you, but you need to go to Him for fulfillment.

Typically, a person striving to attain his ideal life will take pride in any accomplishments that come and not give God the glory for His blessing. But, here’s the awesome thing that happens when we do seek the Lord for fulfillment in life: He meets our need. In fact, He EXCEEDS our expectations!

Listen to any of God’s servants who have spent a number of years walking faithfully with Him. NONE will ever say, “God disappointed my expectations.” You will never hear it! They always testify the opposite and profess something like, “I never imagined my life to be like this! God is taking me on a wild ride!”

Ready to try it? You simply make the decision to lay down your efforts and/or your pursuit of man’s favor. Seek the Father in heaven first. Ask Him to satisfy your needs.

I’m so excited for you as I think about your making this request known to God. He delights in our earnestly desiring to know Him and to know His ways. You will be one of those looking back on your years with the Lord and saying, “Never in my wildest dreams did I foresee God leading me into such a tremendously blessed life!”

I want this for you, but that matters little. Your Father in heaven made the way possible for such a life, and He wants you to take hold of it!

Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
