simple trust

Go…preach this message: The kingdom of heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons…Do not take along any gold or silver… take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals… (Matthew 10 :6-10, NIV).

If we all approached our days with a sold-out mission to reveal the Lord God in this earth, and if we abandoned the self-sufficient mindset, we would know the thrill and reward that accompanies a lifestyle of trusting God.

Most of our spiritual stagnancy, regrets, financial woes, relational and emotional conflicts stem from our inability to trust the Father in heaven.

But, in all reality, do you trust someone you do not know? Make it your most worthy pursuit to know God. He reveals Himself in His written Word. As we begin to see Him for who He is, and as we learn that He does what He says He does, we increasingly abandon the stance of producing for ourselves, and we choose, instead, to receive from Him. It’s a posture of rest that Jesus paid dearly for us to experience. As children of the Most High God, we are to rest in knowing that the Father is good; we rest in His provision, His protection and His promises concerning the future.

Lord, I surrender to You. Make this your life-defining prayer!
