fearlessly face 2015
Yesterday was Cyber Monday, and I hope you secured some awesome deals! Are you making a dent in your Christmas shopping list? Maybe you’re like me and waiting to get started! Well, there seems to be much readiness for the celebration of Christmas! I loved my husband’s post on Facebook last night, so I must share:
Before Adam took that bite, before Eve took the fruit off the tree, before the serpent deceived her, before the foundations of the earth were laid, He already had a plan of salvation and redemption for mankind. Yes, that’s right, you and I were already on His mind. So as we enter this Christmas season, remember you and I are the reason for the season. Yes, we celebrate the birth of our Savior, but He came here for you and me.
Jesus. He will save His people from their sins. Emmanuel. God with us (Matthew 1: 21,23). This season is rich with cause for celebration!
Have you believed upon Jesus’ death and resurrection for the power of your sins washed clean, your conscience cleared of guilt, and your future secured in the promises of God? Do you know that as a child of God, there is a confidence enabling you to fearlessly face 2015? I love it! Even though we may timidly look ahead into the shadowy near future, the Father in heaven sees all that concerns us. His view of our days ahead are crystal clear.
It gets better! Not only does God have confidence of His goodness in the days ahead, but He makes a promise to you. He says that you, Child, will succeed. Your 2015 will be prosperous! You already have His favor. Do you know the basis of your future success? It is the Presence of God in your life! That is a huge secret, but it shouldn’t be! It’s throughout the Bible! (Genesis 39:3, Exodus 3:12, John 14:26, to name a few.)
So, as you enjoy the closing moments of 2014 and look ahead to a successful New Year, allow me to offer some suggestions on how you can practice the awareness of God’s Presence in your life:
- Set spiritual goals along with physical, relational and professional goals for 2015. (Click here to access Chuck Balsamo’s goal mapping guide: “From Here to There.”)
- Ask God to speak a guiding word or phrase for 2015. Write it down in a journal or on a notecard where you will see it regularly.
- Make a plan now to memorize several scriptures or passages that incorporate the target word/phrase. Google “your word in the Bible” to find some.
If you have a vacation day between now and the end of the year, these three items could be mapped out in that time, and you will be more equipped to fearlessly face 2015!
God bless you this Christmas and in the New Year!
