Be the Change!
Do you want to experience a culture of faith that expects and releases heavenly realities here in the earth? Be the change!
A culture of unbelief surrounds you. It may even exist
- in your home.
- in your school.
- in your workplace.
- in your neighborhood.
- in your church.
- in your town or city.
Let’s look at how unbelief affects people and culture as recorded in Scripture.
(Mark 8:23-26) Jesus took a blind man by the hand and led him outside the village of Bethsaida. Jesus healed him and told him not to return into that village. (Matthew 11:21 reveals Bethsaida as a place without faith even though miracles were displayed there for their opportunity to believe and repent. Judgment upon Bethsaida was to come as a result of their failure to do so.)
(Matthew 13:57-58) But Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor.” And He did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
(Matthew 9:23-25) When Jesus entered the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd, He said, “Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at Him. After the crowd had been put outside, He went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up.
(Acts 9:40) Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:22-24).
How is all this possible, you ask?
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).
Say yes to God’s commission to be His ambassador! As followers of Jesus, we are anointed with power by the presence of the Holy Spirit; therefore, we are to walk, speak and minister in the exact manner our Lord did while on the earth. We make disciples; meaning, we invest ourselves in others who also are willing to be the change and uproot the culture of unbelief surrounding them.
