Are You Nervous?
My son, Jacob, leaves today for an unimaginably exciting trip to Israel! I cannot tell you how thrilled this momma is! I have studied his itinerary and I aim to stay connected with him through prayer and Bible study relating to the places he will be each day. The experiences before him will mark his life and solidify even further his faith in God.
I was recently asked, “Are you nervous about his travel?” I can honestly say that I am not nervous! The Lord has been teaching me more and more that as my children grow and spend more time away from home, He never takes His eyes off of them. The Lord keeps my children in His perfect care, and that gives me amazing peace.
As Jacob journeys east, I will keep my thoughts fixed on these timeless words from Psalm 121, words quoted by the faithful through the millennia as they traveled up to Jerusalem for the various feasts:
I lift up my eyes to the hills- where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip- He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
Safe journeys, my Son. I am with you in thought and prayer.
