Do Not Worry
Watching the cardinals and the sparrow enjoy the seeds they found this morning in my neighbor’s yard, I reflected again on the faithfulness of God. Jesus said, “Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life” (Matthew 6:25-27)?
Worrying is a waste of time. Do not excuse it as an inherited trait, because it has no place in the life of a believer. When you are tempted to worry, pray instead and ask the Father for truth. Go to His Word and spend time getting to know the Author of Life, the Creator of all things, and the very One whose knowledge concerning the universe is unlimited. God Almighty is ruler of all things, and He invites you and me to know Him. To know Him is to trust Him. To trust God is to live free from worry.
Today is No Fear Friday and a great day to reward your health and your relationships by rejecting a state of worry.
