You Can Put a Dress on a Chihuahua But…
It’s still a Chihuahua, not a child. It’s fun to pretend.
Bruce Jenner is pretending. He can declare he is a woman, he can use his wealth to alter his appearance, but his DNA proves the undeniable truth: he is a man.
While television and print media use his big reveal as an example of heroism, I will speak of this “newsworthy” occasion to give evidence of the delusion that is in full force among us.
Before I continue, let me preface the sharing of biblical truths with my personal mindset concerning the darkness being heralded as light. I am not mad. I am not disgusted. I am, however, grieved. I told my husband last night that Bruce Jenner still has a soul; his life has value in God’s eyes, and there is still hope that he can repent and live now and for eternity empowered by the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Though his body once knitted together in his mother’s womb is now mutilated, he still has eyes and ears- will he one day see and hear? Will he discern the voice of the Spirit wooing him to worship God in spirit and truth? Our role as the Church in the earth is to pray and be ready to share the Gospel.
And let us not be confused by all of the talk going on about a surgical sex change. It is God who formed us. We are His workmanship, and there is scriptural truth to contradict the belief that God created in error.
“They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness” (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12).
“Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker, to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, ‘He has no hands?’ Woe to him who says to his father, ‘What have you begotten?’ or to his mother, ‘What have you brought to birth?’ This is what the Lord says- the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: Concerning things to come, do you question Me about My children, or give me orders about the work of My hands? It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it. My own hands stretched out the heavens: I marshaled their starry hosts” (Isaiah 45:9-12).
When in doubt, we are directed by Omniscient God to consider His unchanging truth: “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth” (Isaiah 40:28).
“For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him. The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care” (Psalm 95:3-6).
“How many are your works, O Lord! In wisdom You made them all; the earth is full of Your creatures” (Psalm 104:24).
Wisdom has two forms: heavenly and earthly (See James 3:13-18). Let us tap into the wisdom of heaven. Its promise is entrance into life. The flip side of the coin presents earthly wisdom and all that it professes to be good, as in the example of Bruce Jenner’s perversion. His very public confusion over his sex leads others astray as this passage in Proverbs 2 warns:
“Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, who leave the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways. It will save you also from the adulteress, from the wayward wife with her seductive words, who has left the partner of her youth and ignored the covenant she made before God. For her house leads down to death and her paths to the spirits of the dead. None who go to her return or attain the paths of life” (Proverbs 2:12-19).
“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities- His eternal power and divine nature- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”
“For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.”
“Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator- who is forever praised. Amen” (Romans 1:18-25, emphasis added).
