A Great Harvest Of Souls for the Kingdom of God
I anticipate these final hours of the last days bringing a great harvest of souls for the kingdom of God! We, who walk with the Spirit, see and interpret the signs- Jesus is coming soon. Our witness is more urgent. The increasing persecution has the opposite effect of what is intended: rather than silence the love of Holy God illustrated through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, it magnifies the cry, “YOU MUST BE SAVED!” Think of the Klein’s who were ordered by the state of Oregon this summer to not make public claims of their Christian beliefs… the body of Christ multiplies those claims by the day as we respond to the persecution they suffer.
“Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly” (Philippians 1:14).
Greater, Spirit-empowered boldness of believers aids the current harvest, but so does the desperation of the times in which we live. In looking ahead to this generation, Jesus said that the love of most will grow cold. It breaks my heart to even think on the evidence of this prophesy, but we’re seeing it, especially in crimes against women and children. Just this week in the news… a video exposé reveals the greed at the center of Planned Parenthood’s motives. One of their partners in destruction shares (while casually eating a restaurant meal) about her careful crushing of the unborn baby in such a way that she can preserve certain organs for resale… Go ahead and let that wail of your soul sound.
Help us, Father!
This world is shaking, and those whose foundations crumble will seek out something sure and steadfast. May we be found ready. May we confidently share the reason for our hope in the midst of the uncertainties that abound at this time.
“Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, He confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure” (Hebrews 6:17-19).
Earlier this year I wrote “Renee’s Top Ten Before Jesus Returns.” Today begs another look- you can read it here.
Praying for more love,
