100-Day Identity Makeover: Day 3

Day 3

You Are a Mountain-Mover (Matthew 21:21)

Your faith ushers in miracles. Mountain- moving. It’s so contrary to your mental approach to how miracles occur. If you’re like most people, you believe that once circumstances change, then you will see and experience your heart’s longing.

Jesus amazed His friends by commanding a fruitless fig tree to bear fruit no more! It instantly withered, and when asked “How?” He took the opportunity to teach them. Prepare your heart for this; till up some rich soil, because this is good seed!

I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea,” and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer (Matthew 21:21-22).

If you have faith and do not doubt… you will receive.

Faith is heaven-born, so there’s no use trying to muster it up in your own strength. It is a gift of God and the catalyst to your receiving His grace. Speaking of salvation, let’s visit this greatest of all miracles. Some people think a medical miracle is the most astounding thing God does. While turning around a physical state that greatly impacts a person’s temporal life is good, changing the heart of a person leading to his eternal blessing of life is better (See Mark 2:8-11)! God said He will remove a heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26). That is a miracle! World War II hero, Louis Zamperini, testified to this miracle that happened at his conversion. He said following his salvation, he finally understood the Bible as he read it. He knew that the miracle of salvation had taken place because the Spirit of God now residing within him granted him spiritual understanding!1

How about you? Have you believed God for the greatest of all miracles? Is your faith in Jesus and your hope for eternity built upon the truth that He has cleansed you of all sin and His Spirit now lives in you? If your answer is yes, then you, Child of God, are a mountain-mover. If your answer is no, then you can begin a relationship with Jesus today simply by confessing to Him the wrong things you’ve done against God, yourself and others, and by asking Jesus to come into your life and be Lord. That is the first and mandatory step to becoming a mountain-mover!

Notice how Jesus said mountain-moving works.

  1. Have faith. Sounds easy, right? The true test of walking this out will be your ability to override fear. Fear is a faith-inhibitor, so get rid of it. While you may be tempted to believe you have reasonable evidence for concern, the truth is you’re not trusting God when you’re banking on your fears being realized.
  2. Do not doubt. Don’t entertain the what-if’s. Go with God all the way! See Jesus exalted above all things just as His Word describes Him. He is seated at the right hand of God in the heavenly realms, “far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way” (Ephesians 1:21-23).

Let’s take a look at a lesser miracle- Jesus raising Jairus’ twelve-year old daughter from the dead. When Jairus thought it was too late for a miracle, Jesus said, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed” (Luke 8:50).

Do you see how mountain-moving works?

Don’t be afraid. You cannot have fear and faith in the same residence. Either your heart knows fear or it knows faith.

Just believe. With faith as the catalyst, act upon the truth of God’s Word.

Receive the miracle. Remember, you are not the producer of supernatural transformation. Miracles happen by the power of God, and He wants you to know that His grace is sufficient for you. Whereas you may be tempted to think God’s grace trickles down from heaven, the true measure of His grace is like the Atlantic Ocean and you’re in it. Consider your body’s mass in comparison to the ocean’s volume, and you have a correct understanding of God’s grace in comparison to your need. He swamps you billions of times over!

Walk It Out  Hear God’s Word and put it into practice (Luke 8:21)

Silence the mouths of the naysayers. Reverse words and sever them if necessary. Let no one thing nor person be exalted to the high place of the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
