100-Day Identity Makeover: Day 18
You Are Justified by His Grace (Romans 3:24)
I stood before the traffic court judge and listened to the charge brought against me. Although I anticipated his knocking the gavel against wood and stating a fine I was to pay, he, instead, cleared my wrongdoing on account of a spotless driving record. In an instant I went from thoughts of rightfully being declared guilty, to leaving the courtroom free from any charges of violation.
A record of perfection substitutes your record of wrongs.
What a beautiful freedom Jesus secured for all who believe upon the sacrifice of His life for the sins of mankind! When the believer stands before God, he will hear that all wrongs are removed from his personal record because he, through faith, acquired the perfect record of the spotless Lamb of God.
“…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ” (Romans 3:23-24).
Child of God, a legal transaction took place the moment that you confessed faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, and now you are justified.
The wonder of justification is this:
“He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:11-12).
Walk It Out Hear God’s Word and put it into practice (Luke 8:21).
Read 1 Timothy 1:13 and write the three sins of Paul’s past. In red ink symbolizing the blood of Jesus, write the word JUSTIFIED on top of the list. Do the same for a list of three or more sins of your past.
