Why the Home?

When I was a little girl, I played House and School. Pretty normal, right? When I grew up, I started a family, became a stay-at-home mom, and did eight years of home education. So not normal! But fulfilling? Yes, very fulfilling, and I would do it all over again!

My heart for the home and family is deeply rooted. I want to say it was ingrained in me through my childhood environment, but I dare say it’s deeper than that. In fact, I believe each of us has an inherited pursuit of safety and belonging. It’s a God thing. He created us, and He made us for Himself- to belong to Him and to find safety in His omniscient care. God’s care begins even before conception and continues for all of eternity. Take a look!

“My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be” (Psalm 139:15-16).

“Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God” (Revelation 21:3).

Harbor and Home. Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Friend, Jesus is the way to God the Father. If you’ve been trying to do life on your own like a runaway, hear the love of God beckon you today: “Come home. Security awaits you in My care.”

Harbor & Home is something new on the internet. I’ve created a lifestyle blog- a look at the physical environment that promotes God’s heart. This is forty years  worth of passion for the home and family! I would be delighted to have you as a guest! Come and join me for room makeovers, inspiration, easy do-it-yourself projects and more!
