100-Day Identity Makeover: Day 46
You Are the Habitation of Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 13:5)
Do you ever find yourself relating to God as one who is on the earth and separated from Him who is in heaven? Yet Jesus said He would never leave you nor forsake you.
How is Jesus always with me if He is with the Father in heaven?
Jesus told the disciples to be glad that He was returning to the Father (See John 14:28).
“…I am going to the Father… and I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you…On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you… If anyone loves Me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him” (John 14:12, 16-17, 20, 23).
Child of God, you are the habitation of Christ Jesus. When you awake, work, play, travel, study, and sleep, He is with you! The reality of Jesus making His home with you began the moment you asked Him to cleanse you of all your sins and to rule in your life. And Paul, by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, described the benefits of your being united with Christ.
“You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you” (Romans 8:9-11).
Wow! The presence of God with you is amazingly rich! You are free from the bondage to sin and its penalty of death, your spirit is alive, and you will live forevermore with the Father in heaven!
Walk It Out Hear God’s Word and put it into practice (Luke 8:21).
Talk with the Father about the benefits of Jesus in you. Psalm 103: 1-5 is a good place to start!
